Get Rid of and Donate - At Station Hall
Herne Hill Forum are pleased to share an update from one of our established partners at Station Hall, Get Rid of and Donate, who have been using Station Hall as a base for their toy and book library, and to take in donations of useful items (clothes, baby equipment, furniture) which they upcycle, repair, rejuvenate and send on to new homes. They distribute items to organisations including homeless shelters, disaster relief, drug rehabilitation, and refugee centres.
They are looking for volunteers for their Thursday & Friday drop off/info sessions at Station Hall, which run from 1-3pm. Volunteers are required to have basic admin skills, and the role will involve project planning, communicating and liaising with other community projects, schools and outreach groups.
They also need volunteers to supervise for Sunday Toy & Book exchange library, from 12-4pm, to register children and assist with collections. Children will need to be supervised by parents whilst using the space. Children can take up to 5 toys, books and games in exchange for their old ones.
Both roles are ideal to be shared between two people, if required.
If you just want to donate items, a donation box is available at Station Hall on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays from 11-5pm. They are currently collecting for rough sleepers, donations of warm clothes needed by 15th April.
