Ebony Horse Club gets stamp of approval
An image of HM The Queen, taken during her Oct 2013 visit to Ebony Horse Club, appears on the recently issued, Australian 70c stamp to celebrate her 89th birthday. Definitly a stamp of approval! If you don't know about us, our community riding club is in Wyck Gdns, just at the far end of Milkwood Rd. We have nine horses stabled there and teach riding and horse care to local children and young people. We have over 200 members and eight local schools visit us every week. Our aim is to teach valuable life skills such as teamwork, self esteem, responsibility and empathy through contact with horses to inner city children who would not have the opportuinity otherwise. We're always looking for volunteers, so do look on our website and sign up! www.ebonyhorseclub.org.
We're very excited about our May 10th, special screening at the Brixton Ritzy of Dark Horse and a Q & A with director, Louise Osmond. Our latest arrival, Pedro, the Shetland will be outside to greet the audience from 10am so do come and meet him and support us. Film starts at 10.30am. We'll all be in post election mode by then, so we hope it will be a good antidote!
