Dulwich & Herne Hill Quiet Skies Campaign

You may have noticed that the noise from flights overhead has worsened
in recent years, badly affecting our enjoyment of our homes, gardens
and local parks. This is due to changes which mean that we are on a
concentrated flight path for arrivals into Heathrow Airport.

We have started a Petition (which is attached) to reduce the levels of
noise in our area. We are hoping to obtain as many signatures as we
can to send a petition to the Heathrow Community Engagement Board,
Heathrow Airport and the Civil Aviation Authority. We are told that if
more local residents complain, the more likely it is that action will
be taken.

The Petition can be found on the Change.org website "HEATHROW
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT BOARD: STOP THE NOISY, CONCENTRATED, FLIGHT
SUPERHIGHWAY OVER SOUTH-EAST LONDON”. Do add your name if this an
issue which concerns you. You can read more and sign the petition
here:

We have raised this issue with our local MP, Helen Hayes, who has very
kindly written to  Baroness Vere, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of
State for Transport with responsibility for aviation, outlining the
current situation making clear the increase in the levels of noise and
the problems caused by the use of concentrated flight paths. Local
Counsellor, Margy Newens will also be discussing the issue and our
recommendations with Southwark Council.

We would urge you to put your name to the Petition at the change.org
website. Please forward this email to your friends and neighbours in
south-east London who are affected by the concentrated flight path.

Kind regards,
Rufus & Sunita Knight-Webb
