Choral Evensong as part of HHMF in newly restored St Paul's, Oct 12th

Earlier this year Cornische Builders completed substantial refurbishment of St Paul's Church on Herne Hill, the very church where John Ruskin worshipped. It was originally built in 1843 and then rebuilt in 1858 because of fire damage. The new interior of the church is splendid, very welcoming and shows more clearly its architectural detail. This year also sees the celebration of the centenary of its organ. These photos from Cornische show just how extensive the works have been. The Herne Hill Music Festival will be including a Choral Evensong as part of its 2014 programme, with a choir drawn from the Anglican parishes of South London, organised by the Director of Music at St Paul's, Cliodna Shanahan. You're invited to come along and be part of the congregation on Sunday Oct 12th, from 6:30-7:30pm when you can join in singing and marvel at the new interior!
