According to Friends of Carnegie Library, Lambeth Democracy has explained the move is due to "concerns about capacity and safety". There has been some complaint that this venue is more awkward to get to. Nonetheless, the Friends of the Carnegie hope as many as possible will attend to lobby against Lambeth's plan to close the Carnegie for 9 months and reopen it chiefly as a gym run by GLL.
