Can you cook? Have you got some spare time?

Do you enjoy cooking?

Do you get on well with older people?

Do you have some occasional spare time?

Could you use some extra income?

Abbeyfield House, 10 minutes’ walk from Herne Hill Station, is a lovely friendly ‘home from home’ for seven elderly people. We are looking for people who live locally and are proficient at home cooking (mainly traditional British food) who can join our team of relief housekeepers to cover sickness and holidays.

If you enjoy cooking then this might be the job for you. You would provide home-cooked meals for our residents and offer emotional and practical support when needed. Relief housekeepers in the past have included local mums whose children have flown the nest, people who have run their own catering companies, or students with proven cooking skills and exceptional personal qualities.

A First Aid Certificate and Food Hygiene Certificate would be beneficial but it is your personality, cooking and management skills that count the most.

Working hours are 9am – 2pm and 4pm - 7pm. It helps if you can stay the night before your duty day.

Pay: £8.50 per hour plus a consideration for overnight stay.

Please bear in mind we cannot offer regular days although we are looking for someone to cover Fridays in Oct/Nov 2016. This is rewarding work for a confident and friendly home cook, and a chance to get involved with an important local institution.
