Brockwell Swimmers raise over £1,000 at Swimathon 2015
Brockwell Swimmer teams took part in the Lido's annual Swimathon raising over a thousand pounds for the Marie Curie charity who provide thousands of hours of nursing care to terminally ill patients across the UK. Please click on the donation page if you would like to increase this total...
The event was very well organised by the Fusion team including Tara and James and great to see more swimming events happening at the Lido.
First to go for Brockwell Swimmers Team 1 was Calum Hudson, followed by Michael Keane, then Tim Sutton and lastly Clive Broadbent, all swimming 25 lengths each. (Clive was also swimming a 5K individual so in total he swam 125 lengths that day. Impressive stuff.)
Even more incredible was the solo performance by Tom Epps for Brockwell Team 2 who swam the whole 100 lengths on his own due to ill health from his swimming partner Angus – and he was still smiling at the end! Hats off to the man, hope you’ve finally warmed up.
Finishing time for Team 1 was 2 hours, 9 minutes, 27 seconds, and for Team 2 (Tom) 1 hours, 50 minutes, 53 seconds.
Great fun and looking forward to the next team outing. More news at www.brockwellswimmers.com.
