Brilliant Shakespeare at 400 Tribute; Festival continues in the Park with Indian classical

The Mock Tudor Band and The Friends' Music joined forces in St Paul's Herne Hill last night for period costumed Spoken Word, singing and playing to commemorate 400 years since Shakespeare's death (1564-1616)! Madrigals and crumhorns, drinking songs and performances from The Bard's works by renown talents  Michael Loughnan and Bernard Lawrence. The Festival restarts on Sunday at 1:30pm in Brockwell Hall to lead three performances in Brockwell Park. Events begin with Mehboob Nadeem, acknowledged as one of the leading exponents of the present generation of the Vilayatkhani Gharana, a style of sitar developed to mirror the lyrical quality of the human voice. Followed by Norwood Wind Ensemble at 2:30 and Fran McGillivray & Mike Burke in the Community Greenhouses at 3:30pm.
