Herne Hill Velodrome, one of the oldest cycling tracks in the world, will have multiple World and Olympic champion Sir Bradley Wiggins CBE participating in a Q&A at the inaugural Big Velofete fundraising event this Saturday, 15th June. The Big Velofete is a new fundraising event for the Velodrome, taking place across the 15th & 16th of June. The weekend offers a broad spectrum of events including road racing, track racing, sprinting, road bike criteriums, fixed gear criteriums, cyclocross, duathlon, cross country running and drag sprints. There will also be exhibitions, talks, signings stalls and music. Entry by (suggested) donation.

Wiggins is one of Britain’s most decorated cyclists, having won numerous World and Olympic championships on both the road and track as well as being the first British winner of the Tour de France. After growing up racing at Herne Hill Velodrome as a young boy, ‘Wiggo’ will return to host a Q&A with his childhood mentor; former National Derny and Junior Road Race Champion, Russell Williams. Travelling halfway across the world from Adelaide, South Australia, Russell will offer the British public a unique insight into his experiences racing at London’s most iconic Velodrome, as well as regaling tales of a younger Brad. The Q&A will take place on Saturday evening of the 15th at 7.45pm within the Book Tent.
