Big Garden Birdwatch

Wren: A regular visitor to most gardens.

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) is running the worlds largest wildlife survey, Big Garden Birdwatch on 26th-27th January. This yearly event has grown over the last 30 years into fun for all the family. Over half a million people regularly take part. All you need to do is count the birds in your garden or a local park for one hour then tell them what you see by registering your results online. With results from so many gardens, the RSPB are able to create a snapshot of bird numbers across the UK. Your results help them spot problems, but more importantly, they are also the first step in putting things right. This is why it's so important that garden birds are surveyed. The more people involved, the more can be learnt, so please encourage your family, friends, neighbours and teachers to take part and make 2013 the best ever Big Garden Birdwatch! Find further information, register for your pack or download your counting sheet here.
