Back with a Splash
After a long three month wait, Brockwell Swimmers are back in the pool for their weekly swim sessions, now even bigger and better than before. Things were getting a little cramped with just two two lanes at JAGs Sports Centre so they have moved to nearby Alleyns School, hiring the whole pool with two expert coaches Sam Salabi and Catherine Simpson.
The new format means the club can now accomodate more members of different abilities; from beginners wanting to learn technique to faster swimmers who want to thrash out some lengths. Monday's first session welcomed some new swimmers and from the smiles on their faces and comments afterwards they certanly seemed to enjoy themselves.
The club thanks the pool's Sports Facilities Manager Stefan Gibberd and his team who have worked so hard to make this community facility available to the public again by opening the pool with new socially distancing rules, increased sanitation, ventilation and revised chemical levels. They have done a great job.
Brockwell Swimmers' initial five weekly sessions run 7pm to 8pm from Monday 27th July to 24th August (few spaces still available) and they hope to run more in the future. For booking information check their shopping page on the web site www.brockwellswimmers.com. Club membership costs just £10 a year.
