Armistice Centenary in Herne Hill, Sunday 11th November
There will only ever be one Centenary of the First World War Armistice. On that day, Sunday 11 November 2018, we hope you will join us at Herne Hill's popular market. We are currently in the process of organising a two-minute silence at 11am, to be followed by a short choral concert.
Meanwhile, thanks to our friends at Southeastern Railway who operate Herne Hill station, we are working on the design of information panels for installation in the ticket hall of the Station. There will also be panels at Charter School and the Carnegie Library in Herne Hill Road.
The Herne Hill Society’s First World War memorial website will be launched on the same day. To find out more about “Remembering Herne Hill 1914-18” see http://www.hernehillsociety.org.uk/news_articles/view/remembering_herne_hill_1914_18
