About this Event
You are cordially invited to visit our private 2-day art exhibition, which showcases work done entirely by the artistic community living in the beautiful – if dilapidated - Grade 2 listed Art Deco Dorchester Court estate in Herne Hill.
Featured works include etchings, watercolours, monochrome, cyanotype, sculpture, acrylics, charcoal, pencil, pen and ink, typography, photography, textiles, jewellery and film.
Usually, we have a summer party at this time of year, featuring live music performed by residents and friends with hundreds attending, with homemade food and BYO drinks. The pandemic has made that impossible, so instead, we are showing the work of ‘artists in residence’ here in the communal spaces - lobbies and landings of the blocks.
Much of the work is for sale: prices will be marked.
All required social distancing measures and tapes will be in place; hand sanitisers will be available, a one-way system will be in place and lifts and handrails will be regularly disinfected.
Entry is by ticket only.
Families and children welcome!
You may bring friends with you, up to a total of 8 people – the new lockdown limit - but each person must have a ticket.
While you are here you are welcome to wander around the site and admire these neglected but beautiful buildings and stroll the grounds.
You are welcome to meet friends and picnic on the lawns; no animals please.
Please take away any rubbish or put it in the bins behind the blocks.
Thank you: please enjoy yourselves!
Parking is free within the court: please use the side roads to the estate and not the central area. Buses 68 and 468 halt outside at Frankfurt Road stop.
