There will only ever be one Centenary of the First World War Armistice. On that day, Sunday 11 November 2018, we hope you will join us at Herne Hill's popular market. We are currently in the process of organising a one-minute silence at 11am, to be followed by a short choral concert.
Volunteering & Community
Dear Herne Hillians,
On 22 October, the Blooming Lambeth Awards Ceremony will be shining a spotlight on the community gardening, growing and food activism taking place across Lambeth.
Now that autumn is in the air, how about a mushroom foray in Brockwell Park? On Sunday 14 October at 2pm, join Fabrice Boltho, Community Gardener at Myatts Fields Park Project Group, at the Clock Tower next to the cafe. He will take you for a leisurely walk through the fungi of the park. Do wear warm clothes and sensible shoes as the ground may be wet.
Futures Festival is a FREE, not-for-profit, fresh approach to a careers fair, taking place on Thursday October 25th at St John's Primary School, Angell Road, SW9 7HH.
A long-awaited update on the World Record Attempt last week: local politicians, local actor Mark Rylance and thousands of Herne Hill residents came together to make it happen!
Could you help a local charity sort and clean donated clothes for families and new parents who are struggling?
Maybe you, and a couple of friends could spare a few hours on Sunday 16th September between 2pm and 5pm to help them put together clothing packs?
