Music, Film, Dance
In this bi-centenary year of Herne Hill resident John Ruskin, Herne Hill Music Festival hopes to include a musical based on Ruskin’s only play in its programme. Composer Paul Ayres plans to turn The King of the Golden River by Ruskin into a musical to be performed by St Saviour’s Primary School.
Hosted by Comedian and Radio Presenter, Miss Mo’Real, book in for dinner with our three funny women, Abbie Murphy, Sandra Hale and Miss Mo’Real waxing lyrical on this year’s IWD theme – Balance. £5 of every ticket sold will go to a female-centric local charity (more details on this soon).
After Field Day decided not to return to Brockwell Park in 2019, the other one-day event, Mighty Hoopla, proposes to return on Saturday 8th June, with a 19,999 capacity, and a new one-day event, Cross the Tracks, the following day (15,000 capacity).
Have you seen a flying boot, rabbit, hairpins, and what looks like a wig suddenly appearing across Herne Hill? A number of metal art works have started to appear above shops, in the railway tunnel or inside the Half Moon pub.
