ANTI-SOCIAL MUSIC NOISE AFTER MIDNIGHT AROUND 1AM AND 430AM

88 herne hill is where i stay, neighbours know who they are, the culprits, especially on weekends, with their loud music blaring drum beats. What can be done to stop this,as it happens from time to time continuosly every second weekend. They seem oblivious to the music noise they create.I get woken up then cant get back to sleep. How in considerate of them.My guesses are some neighbours around 88 herne hill are not too happy with this either.I think one should video their next party, just to show people how loud their music is,upload it to facebook, google video, youtube, myspace, vimeo,,yahoo video, daily motion, etc naming and shaming them.Suggestions welcome.

Everyone has the right to peaceful enjoyment of their property. In fact, this is written into law with the Human Rights Act.

All sorts of issues can arise which are covered by these laws. Loud music, alarms, dog barking, bright lights, pollution such as smells, dust, venting of central heating flues and the blocking of light, for example, tall trees etc.

If you're experiencing problems then there are steps you can take.

Firstly, begin a diary noting date, time, type of disturbance and how long it lasts. Keep it up to date as it can be admissible to court as evidence if the need arises. Dont worry, most of the time it doesn't get that far.

Secondly, try communicating with them about the issue. If you'd rather not, then contact one of the council Noise Control teams. They can be very helpful in these matters. They'll take your details but they're not divulged to anyone else. If possible, its best to contact them when the disturbance is taking place as their officers could come around and experience it for themselves which automatically adds weight to your case. You're in Southwark. I´ve added their contact details below but I´ve also included Lambeth for others who maybe having issues. There's further information if you follow the links below.

I hope this is helpful. Be patient, I'm sure you can sort this out.
